Savannah Bungalow with Wraparound Terrace in Keravos Agriculture | Design of small houses

This simple bungalow is set on a quiet tree-lined street in Thunderbolt, Georgia, a picturesque fishing village just a few kilometers from the center of Savannah. The small house has been renovated by the owner and turned into holiday rentals.

The public areas are arranged along the left side, with the living room in front, the dining room in the center and the kitchen at the back. The other side of the house has two bedrooms with a spacious bathroom in between. The exact size is unknown, but we estimate it is comfortable 800 to 900 ft2 (74 to 84 m2).

The bungalow is now air-conditioned, but initially the wraparound terrace would be the main living room in warm, humid weather. The terrace is accessible both from the living rooms and the dining rooms, and is wide enough to place groups of furniture leaving space for people to pass. Since these photos are taken, the owner has also added a shielded terrace from the back bedroom.

The large backyard is shaded by a 250-year-old oak tree dripping with Spanish moss. The new screening terrace probably improves access to the yard, as there was no back door at all, but it would be nice to have a kitchen door.

The bathroom is very large and still has room for a large living room. Given the size, the room was probably used for something else before turning into a bathroom. Laundry facilities are located in the kitchen, with the machines hiding behind a curtain in an integrated position.
