In the true spirit of avant-garde, Jeremiah Johnson (Robert Redford) builds a wooden cabin next to his new husband and son.
Years ago Kevin Cosner danced with the wolves, Robert Redford went to the mountains to escape the civilization in the desert west of the Sydney Pollack. About 1850, former soldier John Redford decides he would prefer to live alone as a mountain man in Colorado rather than confronting the limitations of society. After a series of failures, he meets a greyed-up veteran male teddy bear (Will Geer), who teaches him how to survive. Jeremiah tries to live as peaceful as possible in the miserable environment, trades with the native Crow, adopting a boy (Josh Albee) after his family is slaughtered and even marries his daughter (Delle Bolton). He is stationed in a mountain home with his family, but the US Cavalry, with a Puritan Reverend, interrupts the romance to force Jeremiah to lead them over the mountains and through a Crow Cemetery to rescue white settlers. After Saturn kills his family in retaliation, the frenzied moment of Jeremiah's repayment precipitates a long vendetta, turning him into a legendary Indian killer at the expense of his original ideals, on the road to a final moment of grace. Really shot at a location in Utah, the film captures both the appeal and the challenge of the landscape that Jeremiah chooses on culture. With a reckless performance of Redford and a story that challenged white colonialism, while he was making a fantasy of nature, Jeremiah Johnson addressed his audience in 1972 and became one of the biggest blows of the year. Jeremiah Johnson took his place among the critical western world of the Vietnam era, such as Arthur Penn's Little Big Man (1970) and McCabe and Robert Miller (1971), who condemned Jeremiah for survival and the conviction for his murder. culture to destroy the desert and prevent people from taking indigestion.
