Online voting decides placements in five categories: industrial / commercial construction, public buildings, private homes / homes, interior design and engineering structures. The winners had already been selected by the jury among young architects and Franco-German projects. Hubert Burda is the honorary award for creative identity architecture.
In the other categories, projects such as the Vinothek in Oberkirch, the Konstanz pest, the Fritz Keller cellar or the most elegant car wash in Kehl-Sundheim have yet to be decided. Jürgen Grossmann: "It is profitable for the different concepts and concepts to work on you and then vote, because we are convinced that architecture interests us all!"
With the Badischer Architekturpreis (BADAP), the architect and initiator Jürgen Grossmann and his patron, Frank Scherer (district administrator of Ortenaukreis), wish to honor and reward the architecture of Baden, as well as to raise awareness public at the designed space. The prize is different from other competitions in that all people have the right to vote and vote.
A total of 242 submissions were received in all categories. A panel of ten-member experts chaired by Dr. Ing. Fred Gresens reviewed and verified all nominations and listed three candidates per category. However, the jury will not decide only those who will receive the prizes at the end: their preselection has been activated for the public vote since 1 June 2019 on www.badap.de. The final result is then composed of the voices of the public and the jury.
The great interest in the architecture prize of Baden convinced Jürgen Grossmann to announce two other categories as honorary awards. Teacher. Dr. Hubert Burda has already received the Honor Award of Architecture based on Identity on May 15, 2019.
There will also be an All Star Award. "With this award, we pay tribute to the stars of the architectural scene, who did not come from Baden, but worked with us in the region and created something extraordinary – after all, they greatly improve our homeland. ", explains Jürgen Grossmann. "But whoever wins this prize, we will not reveal it yet."
The first architecture prize of Baden will be awarded on 11 October 2019 as part of a party gala organized at the European Forum am Rhein, at the foot of the Pierre Pflimlin bridge.
